Personalized picture frames are easy to make and fun to share at any gathering. First you must decide what kind of favors you are making, what size the frame and what size the picture inside will be. For example, if you plan the frames to be used as tree ornaments, they should be fairly small whereas if you plan to use them as place settings, they can be somewhat larger. Also, be sure that the size you allot for the picture in the center is a standard photo size; standard wallet pictures are 2 ½ x 3 ½ inches. With digital printing, though, you can crop the photos to be almost any size you like.

Starting with a simple and inexpensive base like heavy cardstock, you can make picture frames for any occasion. They can be painted with watercolors, colored with markers, crayons, colored pencils, covered with various fabrics (sprayable craft glue works best), plastic rhinestones, glitter, and nearly anything else you’d like. By inserting your guest’s picture into the frame and decorating it with that person’s name and pictures or symbols that are important to that person or relevant to the event, you make a special party favor that your guest can keep for a very long time.
