Picture frames are most often engraved to bear information relevant to the picture held inside. There are a great variety of establishments worldwide that will custom engrave information into a metal picture frame for a small fee. These keepsakes are most often made of silver, bronze and aluminum and frequently the material the frame is made of in some way reflects the subject of the photo inside. For example, marriage is such a monumental milestone in many peoples’ lives that they feel is should be commemorated with engraved silver. Likewise the birth of a child and the preservation of those early moments is often connected to bronze and the bronze coating of certain childhood objects, like the traditional bronze shoe.
