Bronze Plaques

Custom Bronze Plaques

Bronze is a versatile metal that can be used to show off plaques in a variety of ways. They can commemorate events, people, and contributions. They are often also used as awards and keepsakes, as well as building or business markers. Bronze plaques can be made into unique shapes; they can have die case add-ins like crests, symbols, faces, or busts. They can also be made in full color, laser etched with photos and bear custom designs and shapes. Bronze also makes especially beautiful service plaques, in gratitude for service or in memoriam. The official
armed forces insignia are cast in bronze for all five branches: the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard.

One popular way bronze plaques are used is in the perpetual plaque. With perpetual plaques, many people or contributors can be recognized on the same mount. These usually include an etched or cast insignia of the organization, company, etc. on the top or to the side of the mount, the award or memorial description, and several small plaques engraved with the names of the people who are being recognized. These work well as an annual award, to which a new person’s name can be added with each successive year, or similar on-going events to which names can be easily added.

Cleaning Bronze Plaque

Bronze is a metal alloy that tends to oxidize and discolor over time. Regular care and cleaning of bronze plaques can help keep it looking its best longer. For bronze that is kept indoors or otherwise out of the elements, it is recommended that it be regularly dusted with a cloth or soft brush and cleaned with mild soap and water at least twice a year. Bronze that is kept outdoors should be cleaned every three months, and dusted and waxed often. It is also recommended that you wax bronze plaques every few months to help protect it. Never use strong chemicals or abrasive cleansers when caring for your bronze plaques.

Find The Sculptor Of My Bronze Plaque

Bronze plaques sometimes include three-dimensional sculpture or a raised relief. These additions are the product of a difficult process and much hard work from a sculptor. The artist who creates the sculpture will usually put his or her own stamp on the piece. Artists do not generally have a standard way of doing these things, so the stamp will be as unique as the art and the person who made it. But by locating the stamp or signature of the artist and contacting the manufacturer of your plaque, it may be possible to find the name and perhaps even an email address or website for the artist you seek.
