Picture Frame Glass
Picture Frame Bubble Glass
Bubble glass is in a convex shape and is usually in a circular or oval frame. This type of frame and glass were traditionally used long ago and therefore have an antique look to them. While some are produced commercially today, most you will find as genuine antique pieces on auction websites or at flea markets. These usually are sold as decorative pieces with the original black and white photographs intact. Picture Frames made with bubble glass tend to be of a wood material and the bubble glass is fairly thick and sturdy. These frames look nice in formally decorated rooms, such as living rooms, dining rooms and perhaps some bedrooms.
Stained Glass Picture Frame
To add color to a black and white photograph, or to bring out certain colors in a full color photograph, one might opt for a stained glass picture frame. They can be as simple as one solid color or as ornate as a plethora of colors in a mosaic pattern as one would see in a cathedral. If one is framing a photograph of a landscape or with many objects or people in it, it is best to use a solid color that may enhance the boldest color in the photograph. However, if the photograph is black and white or is a close up of a single person or object, a more decorative frame with several colors would work best. Stained glass picture frames can be used in any room to add color or complement an already colorful area.

Sea Glass Picture Frame
The term Sea Glass is used for pieces of broken glass that have been worn down by the ocean and the sand to create a unique, frosted appearance. While authentic pieces originate from littered bottles or jars along the beach, other pieces are made artificially for craft purposes. Either way, these colorful pieces make a nice frame for a special photograph or picture. Since the frames themselves can keep the eyes busy, it is best to use these frames with simple, single object photographs or objects. Many do-it-yourself books and websites suggest using pieces of sea glass to create one's own unique picture frame.
With such a variety of picture frames available, it is often difficult to choose one that seems perfect for a particular photograph or picture. In reality, there are many types of picture frames and frame glass that complement artwork or photographs. It is simply a matter of opinion and preference as to what would work in each case.
